The Zhinvali reservoir is located in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of the Dusheti municipality between the Alevi, Gudamakari and Kartli ranges. The surface area of ​​the water is 11.5 km, the maximum depth is 75 m. This is one of the most beautiful places in Georgia. The reservoir provides drinking water for about half of the city's population. Main attractions: Ananuri complex, Jvarpatiosani - (the church of the XII century, which was flooded during the construction of the reservoir, but is visible for 6 months a year).

Korsha - the village is located in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of the Dusheti municipality. The height of the center is 1300 meters above sea level.

Shatili - is a unique monument of the Georgian architecture, a so-called fortress - village. Fortress - towers lying on the rock date back to XVI-XVII centuries. Shatili is situated in municipality of Dusheti, region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 1400 meters above sea level. Distance from Tbilisi to Shatili is 160 kilometres. Due to a complicated road, it takes 5-6 hours to cover the distance.

Mutso is a mountainous village-fortress in Dusheti municipality, Mtskheta-Mtianeti region (historical region of Khevsureti). Built like an eagle's nest, on an impregnable rock. Mutso is located near the border with Ichkeria in the impassable Ardot Gorge. the village is located at an altitude of 1579 meters above sea level and is a monument of national importance. Main attractions: Torgva Tower, Burial grounds.

Gudauri is a ski resort in Kazbegi municipality. Gudauri is located at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level.

Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). According to the Greek myth Prometheus was chained to the Caucasian mountain and according to the Georgian myths it is known that this were ice slopes of Kazbegi. In Georgia Prometheus is known as Amirani. Municipality of Kazbegi is situated in the region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti. Administrative centre is village Stepantsminda. Municipality is entirely high-altitude, 1700-5000 meters above sea level. Main attractions: Gergeti holy trinity church, Dariali Monastery Complex, Sioni Church Complex of Khevi, Zakagori, Abano Mother’s Monastery, Elijah the Prophet Fathers Monastery, Lake Kelitsadi, Gveleti Waterfall, Arsha Waterfall, Juta, Trsuo Valley, Bethlemi Hut (Meteo).

The Gergeti Trinity Cathedral overlooks Stepantsminda. This 14th-century Georgian architectural complex is located 6 km from Stepantsminda at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level. The complex includes the Trinity-domed cathedral (built in the 30s of the 14th century), a bell tower (built in the second half of the 14th century), and a traditional court known as "Sabcheo" (built in the 15th century).


Short description:

The three-day "Shatili-Kazbegi" tour offers a remarkable tourist route in the region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti. You will have the opportunity to explore high-altitude regions of Georgia, visit local ethnographic and architectural landmarks, enjoy breathtaking views, fresh air, experience the serene mountain tranquility, and meet the local population who still maintain ancient traditions in the mountains.


Day one. After breakfast at the hotel, we depart from Tbilisi. We will drive past the Zhinvali water reservoir, visit the ethnographic museum of Korsha, and take a break at "Arabuli Art House" where we will taste local Khevsuretian dishes. You will also have the opportunity to attend culinary masterclasses and learn to make Khinkali. In addition to the gastronomic experience, there will be local craft workshops (knitting, carving). We will continue our journey driving through the Datvi Jvari Pass, enjoying the magnificent untouched mountain views, passing "Guro's Natsveturi," and finally reaching Shatili. We will stay at a hotel, have dinner, and free time to rest.

Day two. After breakfast at the hotel, we will explore the Shatili towers, visit the village of Mutso, return to Shatili for lunch, and then continue our journey, visiting Lebais Karistsikhe along the way. We will stay at a hotel in Gudauri and have free time to rest.

Day three. After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the Gergeti Trinity Cathedral and return from Stepantsminda to Gudauri. We will have dinner in Gudauri and then return to Tbilisi.
